REVIEW: Shame Me Not by Fiona Cole

“I’m a man who knows what you need and would move heaven and earth to give it to you.”

Shame Me Not is my first Fiona Cole novel, and despite its dark content, I found myself falling in love with the story.

A friends to lovers story, stretched over ten years, Shame Me Not introduces us to Ana and Kevin when they are still in high school. Feeling an instant connection with each other, they quickly become best friends. However, both are hiding secrets that cause them both fear and shame. Kevin has dark desires to control and dominate during sex, while Ana thrives on pain and submission. Both teens grapple with these feelings before finding each other.

Shame Me Not is a beautifully written story about personal growth, and accepting yourself for who you truly are. Cole wrote strong, lovable characters who I truly cared about. I especially loved Kevin and the way he cared about Ana. Ana, herself, was sweet and gentle and I adored her. The two of them together were explosive.

If you are looking for a dark, erotic read with fantastic writing and amazing characters Shame Me Not is the book for you. I can guarantee this won’t be my last Fiona Cole book!
