ARTICLE: Who Doesn’t Love A Military Man?

One of my all time favorite romance sub-genre’s is military romance or romantic suspense. The thought of a tall, built alpha male in a uniform really gets my imagination rolling. Am I right?!? Whether they are broody and tortured or charming as hell with a cocky ass strut…I will take them any way I can get them 😉  This was the first blog post that popped into my head that I knew I wanted to write. My generous heart decided I needed to share these badass military men with others so that they may enjoy them as well. These books are in no particular order because I honestly have a hard time picking favorites. Click on the picture for a synopsis on Goodreads.

1. Checkmate: This is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox (Checkmate Duet, #6): Contemporary

Rating: ★★★★/★★★★★

Read my review!

2. Broken Trilogy by J.L. Drake: Romantic Suspense

25755767 24484719 24484737

Rating (for all three): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: I said I don’t have favorites…I lied. Because this is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE series and authors ever. I absolutely fell in love with Cole and Savi and their amazing connection. I have probably reread this series five times through and I still can’t get enough of it. I highly recommend you give this book a try! This is definitely a romantic suspense story, but don’t let that scare you because it is very much a love story as well. The sexy times and the banter that surround these too is off the charts because Cole is the very definition of an alpha male. The side characters are so amazing that they each get their own book in a spin off series which will be on this list too!

3. Bedmates by Nichole Chase (American Royalty #1): Contemporary

Rating: ★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: This is a childhood friends to enemies to lovers romance that I absolutely adored. Jake is an intense character but I loved how he was with Maddie. Maddie was very relatable and knew how to fight for what she believes in.

4. KGI Series by Maya Banks: Romantic Suspense

6634409 7828781 8483147 10675183 11222139 14741092

13411699 16056428 17912980 18809304 20453984 20453985

Rating: Varies between ★★★ and ★★★★★ (My favorites being books 2, 4, 7, and 10)

My Thoughts: This is about a group of ex-military who take on jobs that nobody else can do. Each of these books focuses on a separate couple, but you still get to see a lot of the previous and future characters throughout all of the books, which is what I love about this series. It primarily focuses on a family of six brothers, but their mom “adopts” all of these other characters into her family so it is vert tight knit. I love the camaraderie in these books and getting to see what some of my favorite couples are up to. I highly recommend this series for romantic suspense lovers who love a big family aspect intertwined.

5. Corps Security by Harper Sloan

25168121 25170969 25170980 25178429 24367985

Rating: Varies between ★★★★ and ★★★★★ (My favorites being books 1 and 5)

My Thoughts: This is another close knit group that you see throughout all of the books. They run a private security firm that work on a variety of jobs. They are all ex-military and extremely alpha. Each of these focuses on a different couple and there is a spin-off series called Hope Town that focuses on their children.

6. Unexpected Fate by Harper Sloan: Contemporary

Rating: ★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: This is the first book of Sloan’s Hope Town series and the only one so far with a hero in the military. I am one who begs for a whole extra book just for the happily ever after so that is why I loved this series as much as I did. I got to read how all of their parents met and fell in love and now I get to read about how their children will. I highly suggest that you read Corps Security first, but this is technically a standalone.

7. Blackstone Series by J.L. Drake: Romantic Suspense

26850108 30092271

Rating (for both): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: You knew this was coming! I loved the side characters so much in the Broken trilogy that I screamed when I found out that J.L. Drake was writing a spin-off series based solely on them! Mark and Keith were definitely my favorite side characters so I was really happy that they got the first two books! Both of them are standalone’s but you will appreciate them more if you have read the Broken trilogy first.

8. Fighting Redemption by Kate McCarthy: Contemporary

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: I read this book last year and it was seriously heartbreaking. This is a friends to lovers book and a book about a struggling soldier trying to find his redemption.

9. In the Shadows Series by P.T. Michelle: Contemporary/Erotica

22317804 22607812 23487051

Rating (for all three): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: This series is sexy AF. I have only read the first three books because the next three are a separate couple who are side characters in the first three. This series is chock full of mystery and explosive chemistry. You definitely get some Christian Grey vibes reading this series, except his name MISTER BLACK.

10. Tortured by Nicole Williams: Contemporary

Rating: ★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: This is definitely one of the more heart wrenching military romances that I have ever read. It is so good but it gives you ALL THE FEELS. I tear up just thinking about it…both sad and happy tears.

11. Salvation Series by Corinne Michaels: Contemporary

28961690 28961761 23270403 24241524

Rating (for all of them): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: I just discovered Corinne Michaels this year and I am so glad that I did. She certainly knows how to tell a compelling story. Each duet is about a different couple with the last book of the third duet coming out soon!

12. SWAT Series by Paige Tyler: Romantic Suspense

21898402 24763130 25391400 27015397 29155101

Rating: Varies between ★★★★ and ★★★★★

My Thoughts: I threw this in here because I have recently fallen in love with shifters and this series combines shifters, military men, and romantic suspense, all in one! Plus it is based in Texas so there is that. Each book is about a different pack member finding their mate amongst some chaotic situations.

13. After We Fall by Melanie Harlow: Contemporary

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★
