ARTICLE: Back to College…What Should I Read?

When I was a junior in college I discovered this nifty little genre called College Romance and I was hooked. It was that sweet spot of not YA but not quite full on adult romance. I could still relate to these characters because they were waking up late for exams and running into their hot TA drenched in sweat after their run across campus. They were struggling to find out what they were going to do with the rest of their life so they took 20 different unrelated classes to try and figure it out. They of course all found the love of their life amidst all the school drama, which kept my hopeless romantic heart optimistic. I loved this genre when I stumbled across it through a list on Goodreads. So I thought since everyone will soon be heading back to college (or are going for the first time) that I would assemble a list of some of my own favorite college romances. These can be enjoyed by all of course, but it is definitely geared to help fellow college students feel less alone in the “what the hell am I going to do with the rest of my life?” phase they are currently finding themselves in. 1. Beautiful Series by Jamie McGuire

11505797  15745950  18528454

Rating (for all three): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: This series just makes me a huge mess of emotions every single time that I read it. I have read them 3 times through and I can’t get enough of Pigeon and Maddox. The out of control way that Travis and Abby love each other is a one in a million type love. These two can fight like cats and dogs but the love they have for each other is incredibly beautiful to read about.

2. Contours of the Heart Series by Tammara Webber

16056408  17936925

Rating (for both): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: Ahhh Jacqueline and Lucas’ story is just so perfect! Jacqueline finds herself in a horrific situation before Lucas swoops in and saves her and is kind to her. He wants her to be prepared for any and all situations because he is so freaking protective of her. These two just stir up all the warm and fuzzies! Warning: there is one scene that might be a trigger for some so if you would like a full description of what that particular scene is then please don’t hesitate to contact me!

3. The Coincidence Series by Jessica Sorensen

16113791  16718083  18166143

Rating (for all three): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: This series will rip your heart out, stomp on it, put it through the wringer, and then put it back in your chest whole. I am not kidding. The gamut of emotions that I read while reading about this couple was off the charts! Jessica writes about another couple in between, but Callie and Kayden are my favorite. Warning: Both of these characters suffer some major trauma in their past’s that might be a trigger for some so if you would like a full description of what that is then please don’t hesitate to contact me!

4. Crash Trilogy by Nicole Williams

16096545  16096541  16096514

Rating (for all three): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: This is still one of my favorite college romances! This can also be considered a sports romance trilogy too. The first book actually starts out in high school, but it grows from there and its oh so good!

5. One Week Girlfriend Series by Monica Murphy

17202452  17316075

Rating (for all 3): ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: This series can also be considered sports romance. I loved Drew and Fable’s story so much. Their relationship starts in a very unconventional way, but it grows into an amazing love story!

6. Broken and Screwed Series by Tijan

26850677  17364620

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: I will always always always recommend Tijan because she is legit one of my favorite authors! Alex and Jesse were a messy, exhilarating couple that were amazing to read about. This story is filled with mystery and passion, and you won’t want to put it down!

7. Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★

My Thoughts: What did I say? I will always always always recommend Tijan whenever I can! Caden and Summer are just perfect and I absolutely loved their story. Summer went to school thinking she wanted one thing and then realized she wanted something completely different.

8. Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★
