“Your pain is mine, and I want to shoulder it, because I can.  Because that’s what I do.  I carry my pain all the time.  Let me take away yours.”

The third book in the Sinners of Saints series comes out on September 29th so I decided to finally take the plunge and see what everyone has been raving about.  LJ Shen did not disappointment!  I wanted to start this book all over from the beginning as soon as I read the last page.  That to me is the true sign of a great book!

Defy tells the story of Melody and Jaime.  Melody is the Lit teacher at All Saints High.  She’s an ex ballerina, her lost her dream when a freak accident ended her dancing career.  She hates teaching, and it’s not her passion and she’s a low point in her life.  Jaime is one of the four Hotholes at All Saints, and damn is he hot.  He’s also obsessed with his Lit teacher.

After blackmailing Melody into a relationship, the 26 year old teacher and her 18 year old student embark a super sexy journey to love.  It’s a taboo topic, but you cannot help but fall in love with these two characters.  Melody is hilarious, and I loved her narration, and Jaime is sweet and sexy.  He’s basically every woman’s wet dream, and I fell right into his trap.  I couldn’t get enough of him!

After reading Defy, I immediately downloaded Viscious and Ruckus, and I am so excited to read more about the Hotholes.  Plus, this book solidified my new love for LJ Shen and I cannot wait to read everything she’s written!  Her writing completely sucks you into the story.  It flows really well, and has everything that I look for in a good romance.  Her scenes are hot, her characters are amazing, and her stories are completely addictive.

5/5 Hothole Stars!
