Sometimes love needs a second chance…
I never looked back after skipping out on my own wedding, even if it did leave me estranged from most of my family. Eight years later, I have the life I’ve always wanted. As an advertising account executive, my world is damn near perfect.
Until I come face-to-face with my past. With the man I once loved. The man who holds my future in his hands. The man who’s hell-bent on getting even with me for leaving him at the altar.
Even with all the unfinished business between us, I still love Knox Montgomery. The only problem?
He loves me…KNOT.
I have read a couple of RC Boldt books in the past, and this one is by far the best one yet. I thought it was very well written and had some great deep southern roots to it that I adored. This was a sizzling hot, second chance, office romance story that will get you smiling.
This book also has one of my all time favorite side characters, Beckett. He is seriously the best and I can’t wait for his book Ditched to be release early next year. It is so hard to write a male-female best friend relationship, but Beckett and Emma Jane are perfect. Their relationship might have been one of my favorite things about this book. Emma Jane had some pretty great friends.
I thought the story moved along great and had flashback moments to the couple’s previous relationship that gave insight as to what went wrong the first time. I will say that I was very frustrated with the immature choice that Emma Jane made, which ultimately led to their eight year separation. I just felt it could’ve been easily resolved and they could have avoided all of the heartache. However, I do understand that this allowed Emma Jane to grow as an independent person away from what she had always known.
I absolutely loved Knox. I felt he was such a hopeless romantic who was in it for the long haul before his heart was shattered by the person he loved most in the world. Knox was a rare unicorn who only comes around every once in a blue moon so I knew Emma Jane couldn’t blow it again.
I recommend this story to those who love: second chance romance, awesome best friend relationships, office romance, and sweet southern gentlemen with an alpha side.
Overall Rating: ★★★★/★★★★★
Since starting this blog with my fellow bloggers a few months back, I have been given the oppurtunity to read so many new authors and I am loving it. My wallet is not, and my to be read pile is threatening to bury me alive, but it’s all worth it for the joy that reading brings me. R.C. Boldt is one of the new authors that I read and I am in love with her writing. I read He Loves Me…Knot in practically one sitting and couldn’t have been happier with the story.
Nothing makes me happier than a well written second chance romance. I enjoy seeing the characters rediscover feelings that they long thought were buried and gone. They often lead to some pretty angsty moments between the two main characters and I live for those scenes. This story had just the right amount of angst and sweetness between the pages. Especially the small flashback snippets to when EJ and Knox first met and then throughout their relationship. The love these two had for one another was unbelievable, and I am so glad there was a happily ever after!
I had two favorite characters in this book. One was EJ’s best friend Becket. He was absolutely perfect and I adored his interactions with his best friend. I cannot wait to read his story some day and see if he finds his own one true love. He totally deserves it after taking care of EJ for so many years! And secondly I absolutely LOVED Knox Montgomery. This man was the sweetest, nicest, sexiest Southern gentleman I have ever met. There were so many moments that just made my little heart pitter patter with love for him.
Overall, I loved this one. If I have one compliant it’s that all of there problems could have been solved if they had spoken about them rather than EJ running away. But then again, if that had happened I wouldn’t have had a book to read!
