I hit my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 200 books this week, and I thought I would share with you the books that I am most thankful that I have read. Now, I only picked books that I have read for the first time this year otherwise this list would be never ending, haha! I have included Goodreads links to the pictures as well as links to my reviews if I wrote one. Without further ado (in the order I read them):
I am thankful for this book because it introduced me to Vi! Bossman was the first book that I read by Vi Keeland and she has quickly become one of my new favorite romance authors. My favorite book of hers that I have read is Egomaniac! If you haven’t read it, you are missing out!
I am thankful for this book because my life would not be complete without Matthew Hamilton! I have loved Katy Evan ever since she wrote Real, but Real didn’t have Matthew Hamilton. Matt Hamilton is one of my all time favorite book boyfriends because he is absolutely SWOONWORTHY! I read this book back in February and I still remember everything about him…that is saying something!
I am thankful for this book because it introduced me to Tillie Cole! It Ain’t Me Babe was the first book that I read by Tillie Cole and it is outstanding! It is my favorite motorcycle club romance. It is definitely not for the faint of heart because it is dark and gritty, but oh so good. Souls Unfractured, which is the 3rd book in this series, is my favorite favorite book in this series. This is an interconnected series so I recommend reading it from book 1!
I am thankful for this book because it became my new obsession! I am tearing up just thinking about how I read and watched Outlander for the first time this year! I have never been a huge fan of historical fiction, but this book changed it all! I will say that I had trouble reading it so I watched the show first, but, once I saw the amazingness that is Jamie and Claire Fraser, I flew through the first 3 books in a week. And those are some big ass books! My next dream vacation is to Scotland!
I am thankful for this book because it gave me Pirates of the Caribbean in book form! Daughter of the Pirate King was one of my unexpected favorite reads. It gave me such a strong, sassy heroine who lives by a code we don’t normally see in female characters.
I am thankful for this book because it was a fantastic conclusion to an amazing series! I was so sad to see Rhys and Feyre go (or so we thought ;)) after reading this book. This book gave me moments with my baby General Commander Cassian…I need more of him in her upcoming books. ACOMAF will always hold a special place in my heart, but I also loved ACOWAR.
I am thankful for this post because it gave me my first inspiration for the blog! I absolutely loved this book, and it was the first book that I was so excited about that I sat down and wrote a review for the blog.
I am thankful for this book because it opened a whole new world for me! #Junkie popped my M/M romance cherry and I am so glad I chose this one for that special job! Trent and Drew are just so great together, and gave me a real sense for what LGBTQ people go through when finding a way to be themselves in a cruel world.
I am thankful for this book because it was my first ARC review to post to the blog! I was so excited to learn how to be a part of the reviewing community and this book helped me do that!
I am thankful for this book because it is such an important book for people to read in this day and age! Grip not only introduced me to Kennedy Ryan, but it also highlighted important race and gender issues our country currently faces. This book is about a biracial couple trying to navigate this world where people can be ignorant and cruel toward what they don’t understand. I appreciated the issues that Kennedy brought up and addressed. The words and the lyrics she wrote were pure magic, and I highly highly recommend this series! Make sure you read Flow first!
I am thankful for this book because it demonstrated that band geeks can be sexy! I can’t tell you how many times my eyes were drawn to the band during football games trying to spot one who looked like Laird. Also, I am thankful that I have now read a book where the male character’s name is Laird, haha!
I am thankful for this book because it got me over my audiobook phobia! I have tried reading audiobooks for YEARS, and could never get through them because they always sounded robotic to me. However, I have long commute 3 days a week so I decided to suck it up and give it another try. Lo and behold, Vicious was narrated so well that I almost forgot it was an audiobook. I have learned that some audiobooks are definitely better than others. I just finished my 7th audiobook in 2 months the other day!
I am thankful for this book because it gave me more of my favorite couple! I absolutely love Sebastian and Talia! I was so happy that we got to see more of them while keeping up with suspenseful storylines.
I am thankful for this book because it showcases mental health in a beautiful way! This was another unexpected favorite read because I am not a huge YA contemporary fan, but this book got to me! I felt myself relate to Eliza in surprising ways, and I fell in love with Wallace!
