The start to a sexy new series from New York Times bestselling author, Kendall Ryan…
She’s much too innocent for me, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting the sweet, young librarian. I’m dominating and possessive, and my control streak runs a mile wide.
The way she looks at me—like I’m one of the heroes in the books she loves, like I’m broken, and she wants to be the one to piece me back together—it only complicates things further. I’m nobody’s hero.
But there’s no denying my tragic past reads like one of her favorite literary classics. It’s raw. Visceral. Captivating. And together, we’re a perfect mess.
How can I resist when the sexual sparks zapping between us set me on fire? The need to control, and claim her force my walls to come tumbling down, but when she learns about my dirty little secret, will my world come crashing down with it?
I really had no idea what to expect when I started Dirty Little Secret. I hadn’t even read the synopsis. Within the first few pages, I realized it certainly wasn’t what I was expecting, but it definitely had my attention.
Emma Bell is the head librarian at the city library, and she leads a quiet life at her Brownstone that she hopes to one day restore. Coming off an abusive relationship, she knows she needs a nice, caring man in her life. Which she finds in Cooper Kingsley. However, despite the fact she knows that Cooper is who she should be with, she finds herself falling for his brother Gavin instead. Gavin is dark, and controlling. He has all the warning signs for trouble. But Emma can’t stay away from him, and what happens next had my mouth falling open and rushing to grab book 2.
This was my first experience reading Kendall Ryan and I really enjoyed her style of writing and story telling. She’s also created some really intense and complex characters in the Kingsley brothers and I can’t wait to see the way she further develops their stories in subsequent books. If I had one compliant about this book, it would be the fact that it’s a love triangle of sorts, which is my least favorite troupe. But I’m glad I didn’t let that stop me from moving forward, because triangle or not, this book is definitely worth looking into!
