Can Two Damaged Hearts Fall in Love? Torrid Little Affair Review and Release Blitz!

The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. And I have the perfect candidate all picked out.

My new assistant is tempting beyond belief with her curvy body and take-no-shit attitude. All those luscious curves, and a juicy ass I’m already in love with. God, the things that I would do to that ass…

But it’s the haunted look in her eyes that speaks to me. Like she’s taken just as much shit in her past as I have—maybe more. We both deserve a little fun.

Love can’t fix everything. Mind-blowing sex and a few killer orgasms, on the other hand?

I have a feeling those might do the trick.

Charli’s Review:

I was so excited to read about sweet, lovable Cooper’s book. What I love about this series is that each brother is so different. I love each of these brothers for different reasons. I got all of my broody, dominant feels with Gavin and Emma’s story, and now I am getting sweet, yet still alpha feels with Cooper and Corinne.

The Story. This was was definitely a little bit slower than Dirty Little Secret and Dirty Little Promise, but it matched the vibe of who Cooper and Corrine are. These two beautiful souls came together looking to heal their broken selves, but found a whole lot more in store for them. They each had secrets to overcome and dark pasts that threatened to tear them apart. I loved the light and fluffy in combination with the serious and sad in this book. It just made it such a delectable read and truly had you rooting for these two to figure their ish out. I love series that surround a strong family or friend group because I still got to see what the other brothers are up to and their interactions as a family.

Cooper. We all grew attached to Cooper in the first two books, and our hearts broke along with him when things didn’t go his way. I was so sad to find Cooper drowning his sorrows in booze and women because he has a little bit softer underbelly than his brothers. His heart truly broke and he didn’t think he would ever be happy again. After six months, his brothers force him back into the company where he meets his mouthwatering new assistant, Corinne. Their first meeting was hysterical. Cooper is determined to show this shy, curious woman how to feel good, no matter what the cost. However, the more he gets to know her the more he realizes he wants way more than what they agreed to. I loved his journey with finding out what true love really is and his reconciliation with Gavin and Emma because he finally got it. Cooper is trying everything to break down Corinne’s walls, but nothing could prepare him for the truth she is guarding behind her walls.

Corinne. Corinne is a beautiful soul who has had a hard life. She grew up in an orphanage where she was bounced around before aging out. However, life had one more  cruel blow to deal her. Corinne is a haunted woman trying to figure out what it feels like to be taken care of and cherished. She knows she can only have a physical relationship with Cooper, but she is in for a rude awakening when it comes to the persistence Cooper shows to become something more. When I found out her full story…I was in awe of who Corinne was as a person.

The Relationship. Fate stepped in so that these two could meet. They were both looking to heal from deep wounds and ended up finding something everlasting. Cooper was ready to take on unimaginable responsibility and Corinne was ready to live her life the way she wanted. I loved the growth these two showed in their relationship and the care that they took with each other. I could probably read more of these two all day because I want to know what is next for them.

Now, I can’t wait for Quinn’s book! Quinn has been the typical older, fatherly brother and I can’t wait to see him get his story. I highly recommend this story to those who love: office romance, contemporary, tragic pasts, beautiful heroines, and amazing heroes.

Emily’s Review

Anyone who reads this blog, knows that I have an overwhelming love for the Kingsley Brothers.  I’ve completely fallen in love with this series and I was thrilled when I was offered a chance to read and review Torrid Little Affair.  Torrid Little Affair is Cooper’s story, and after everything that happened to him during Gavin and Emma’s books, I was dying to know more about how his story would play out.  And let me tell you, Cooper and Corinne did not disappoint!

Torrid Little Affair started out a little slow for me and I had some difficulty connecting to Corinne.  But once I really got into the story, I couldn’t put it down and flew through the pages.  Unlike the previous books, there is a bit more lightness around Torrid Little Affair, which is a direct reflection of Cooper himself.  The story still deals with some difficult topics, and two equally damaged characters, but does so in a way that had me smiling.

So let’s talk characters.  Cooper, as mentioned above, is our hero in this story.  After having his heart crushed by Emma, he spends 6 months running away to different locations and drowning his sorrows in women and booze.  My heart broke to see him this way because Cooper was always such a strong, and caring character.  After returning to Forbidden Desires, he meets Corinne, and their first meeting is less than traditional.  But in hindsight, it was also 100% genuine Cooper.  I liked the Cooper we met in the first two books, but I fell in love with the Cooper in Torrid Little Affair.

Corinne is the heroine of Torrid Little Affair, and though I first struggled with connecting to her character, I ended up really liking her by the end.  Corinne had a difficult life growing up, and it left her with some larger insecurities she needed to overcome before she was completely comfortable with Cooper.  Plus she’s hiding a really big secret that I did not see coming, and it left me with my mouth hanging open and flipping the pages faster than ever.  By the end of the story, I was in awe of Corinne and her larger than life heart, and all the love she held within it.

Of all the books so far, Cooper and Corinne’s is definitely my favorite.  Their relationship is so sweet, and built on amazing trust.  I couldn’t have picked a better person for Cooper to fall in love with.  I am so glad he was able to get his happily ever after.

Next up in the series is Quinn’s story, and I am ready.  From the beginning Quinn has been my favorite brother, but he’s also the most mysterious.  I cannot wait to see who brings Quinn to his knees and makes him fall in love!
