Who’s Your Man of the Month?

My Review:

I was so intrigued when J. Kenner announced her Man of the Month series and knew I had to get in on it. It is the ultimate romance series touching on many of my favorite tropes. They are quick reads, but they are excellent.

The Story. Reece is trying to get the idea of his best friend as his lover out of his head when the bar he works out gets into some financial trouble. Jenna moves back to Austin after the company she was working for went bankrupt, and is looking for a new job to take on while burying the mental image she has conjured up of her best friend naked. However, she doesn’t expect to be swept into becoming a partner for a failing bar, along with her closest friends, and coming up with a marketing plan to save it. Insert her brilliant Man of the Month calendar and contest idea here. Reece and Jenna are both denying their feelings due to fear of losing their friendship, but what happens when neither can stay away any longer?

I love this stroke of genius that J. Kenner has brought to us. Its hot, sexy, and brings in several different plot points that she will be writing about throughout the series. I really loved the group of friends and family she decided to focus on because they really are a strong unit that I look forward to reading more about. It is also placed in Austin, which is my city so thats fun to read about. I thought the story was very well written and had a good flow to it. The romance was steamy without it being overpowering. I like it when the story is just as important as the romance. I feel that is particularly important with this series in order to weave them all together. So far, Mr. January was a hit and I can’t wait to see what Mr. February has to bring!

I recommend this book to those who love: quick reads, tight knit friend and family groups, steamy romance, best friends to lovers, and a community coming together to save a bar.

Her Demon Hunting Soccer Mom series (as Julie Kenner) is currently in development with AwesomenessTV/Awestruck.
Her books have sold over three million copies and are published in over twenty languages.
