Blogging Through Our TBR February Kick Off!

So, Charli and I made it through our first month of our TBR Challenge!  We both bombed on the fantasy reads, though we both plan to finish Wintersong!  And we were successful on the romances (big surprise there!).  Our review for our last January read, Cuffed by K. Bromberg will be hitting the blog soon so keep your eyes open!

Because we struggled so much to finish up the fantasy books in January, we’re giving ourselves two weeks to finish the fantasies, with an overlap on the romance week!  Hopefully this will give us some wiggle room and we’ll make it to 100% completion in February!

Without further ado, here are our February reads!

“Silver Reigns”  February 4-18: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

This is a reread for both Charli and I, but neither of us have read the other two books.  With book four coming out this year we thought it would be the perfect time to catch up.  If you haven’t read this one, I definitely recommend it because it really is a fantastic fantasy read!

Synopsis:

This is a world divided by blood – red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.
