BLOG TOUR: Ink by Elizabeth Hunter

INK, an all new opposites attract, Contemporary Romance by Elizabeth Hunter is AVAILABLE NOW!

It’s everything but business as usual.

Emmie Elliot hadn’t expected to come back to Metlin, California. She definitely didn’t expect to stay. She returned to her childhood home with a mission: Sell the building that housed her grandmother’s book store and move on with her life.

But life doesn’t always go according to plan.

To reopen her grandmother’s book shop, Emmie will need a hook. She’ll need a strategy. She’ll need an… Ox?

Miles Oxford doesn’t have much interest in quiet bookstore owners. He’s a tattoo artist without a space to work, and the last thing he wants is to get involved with anyone after his last disaster of a relationship. Work and pleasure don’t mix for Ox, but since he doesn’t have any interest in the cute girl with the bold business proposal, he should be safe from any awkward complications, right?

She sells ink. He tattoos it. Unusual? Yes. But a book shop/tattoo studio might be the ticket for both Emmie and Ox to find success on their own terms. As long as they keep their attention focused on business.

Just on business.

My Review:

This was my first Elizabeth Hunter book and it certainly won’t be my last. Two things drew me into signing up for this book. 1. A book nerd who is reopening her grandmother’s bookshop. 2. A sexy tattoo artist who is trying really hard not to notice how hot his new business partner looks.

The Story. It was light and fun and had me laughing all the way through. I truly adored all of the characters featured in this book because they were so relatable to me. There was a small town aspect to it, which really just makes my heart happy. It was well written and had a fantastic pace to it. There was so much sexual tension in this book that when they finally exploded…it was so worth it. It was such a strange idea to blend a bookshop with a tattoo shop, but it really worked. It honestly made me really want to get a literary tattoo one of these days. It also made me really want to live in this beautiful fictional town where there are sexy tattoos artists sitting in bookshops reading books with paragraphs.

Emmie. Emmie was your classic bookworm who wore sarcastic book shirts and had a slightly naughty side with her full back tattoo. Emmie was just looking for dependability in her partner, but was not expecting to get someone like Ox. Emmie has been walked out on too many times in her life for her not to deserve someone who is always there. I loved her vulnerability and her willingness to put everything she had into her dream. Reading about Emmie’s journey and how she developed in this book was truly amazing. I wish I got to read a little more about her.

Ox. I felt like Ox got a little more attention in this book as far as background goes because we did get to meet his family, and had front row seats to the issues he needed to work through. I was kicking myself because all I wanted was for Ox to figure his ish out, but it was all worth it in the end. Ox is funny, sexy, and understands literary references from Poe and Jane Austen. He truly was a dream boyfriend that I wouldn’t mind finding for myself. His devotion to his family was inspirational and he was so freaking sweet, yet had this alpha side to him that just made him all the more attractive.

I highly recommend this book to those who love: relatable characters, book nerds with a side of sexy, fun friend groups, and small towns.
