Charli’s Review:

I have been dying to get my hands on Sutton’s books ever since Linde announced that they were going to be a duet. Plus I am a sucker for single parent romance and Sutton was always one of my favorite Wright siblings! This book read so fast and I just kept wanting the number in the corner of my kindle telling me the percent read to go down.

The story starts with Sutton visiting Maverick’s grave a year after he died and talking with him about her readiness to find happiness again. My heart ached for Sutton because she was such a brilliant, bright girl before tragedy struck and left her widowed at 23 with a young son. Sutton tried to find her way back to that bubbly girl that she used to be with the help of the people around her…especially these new feelings for David. David became the CFO of Wright Construction about a year ago and was there the day that Maverick died. He watched Sutton struggle and was always there to lend a helping hand. David was ready to let Sutton guide them through the treacherous waters of a new relationship after losing a husband. Will these two be able to navigate it or will their past continue to affect their potential relationship?

I loved reading Sutton’s journey in this book as she tries to figure out what is best for her and for her son, Jason. She struggles with wanting to wallow in the past and be present in the future. My heart ached for this girl as she grieved and as she found a way to try and move forward. Sutton is vulnerable and honest and full of so much light. I really liked her as a character. I also loved seeing more Wright shenanigans because that just never gets old!

David was just the man that Sutton needed after losing Maverick. David is patient and kind and willing to let Sutton take the reins. He is so freaking supportive and is not trying to take Maverick’s place in any way, shape, or form. However, I need to know more about David’s past because right now things are looking a little sketchy.

I NEED BOOK 2 ASAP! I was not expecting that ending, but it was oh so good! I highly recommend this book to those who love: tight knit families, quick reads, and sweet romances.

Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars!

Emily’s Review

I have been anxiously awaiting Sutton’s book since I closed the final pages of The Wright Secret.  I was devastating by the events that had happened in her life, and I’m desperate to see her get a happily ever after.  Not to mention, The Wright Series is probably one of my favorite series ever.  I’m super invested in this family, and I need to know what happens to them all!

The Wright Love takes place a year after the death of Sutton’s husband, Maverick.  Sutton is a 24 year old, single mom and widow, and she’s grappling with the need to move on and the want to stay in the past and grieve.  It’s a tough situation to be in, and not one that I would ever want to experience.  It’s in these feelings that Linde’s writing really shines.  I’ve actually read a lot of widow/widower love stories lately, and they’re either incredibly well done, or just skim the surface of the things that the person could or should be feeling and don’t make the reader feel like they’re really in the story.  Fortunately, Linde excels at putting the reader in touch with the emotions of the characters, and I felt every sorrow and triumph that Sutton did.  Sutton was placed in a tough situation, and it takes a strong person to survive such heartbreak, and we really see her begin to move beyond her grief in The Wright Love.

David is a character that was introduced in the last two books in the series, and he’s the new CFO at Wright Construction.  After Maverick passed away, David stepped up to the plate, and was really there for Sutton.  He offered to watch Jason so that she could get out of the house, and formed an emotional bond with Sutton as he helped her through the grieving process.  He never made Sutton feel like she was less than a person for having feelings of loss, and he never said the cliched things that come so easily to people when they don’t understand how to deal with a loss.  There is a lot of deep seeded feelings with David, that are slowly unraveled in The Wright Love, and it’s a bit like pulling back an onion.  David has always been a bit of an enigma.  He’s super sweet, incredibly good looking, and a wonderful friend.  But on the inside, there’s secrets and lies swirling throughout and unfortunately for him, they really come back to bite him in this one.

I loved seeing David and Sutton’s relationship grow, and adored the feelings of a new love.  Sutton was adorable and sweet, and David was kind and caring.  And together they were absolutely on fire.  There was already a strong bond for them with their friendship, and when they finally crossed the line it only became stronger.  But, in true Linde fashion, nothing is perfect, and she dumps an ending on us that left me making grabby hands for book 2.  I need to know desperately what path she is going to take with these two characters, and how she is going to mend the broken bridges scattered throughout.  My heart broke for both David and Sutton in those last few pages, and I truly hope that they can overcome their obstacles and move forward and let their love blossom into something spectacular.

If you haven’t read The Wright Series yet, then you definitely need to.  Charlie and I have read them all together, and really loved getting to know this family and watch them grown in love and togetherness.  If you have read them, then you definitely know what I’m talking about and don’t wait to read this next installment.  I promise you will not be disappointed!

5 Stars!
