Title:  Voyeur
Author:  Fiona Cole
Genre:  Contemporary Romance
Publication Date:  April 26, 2018

Summary

I didn’t know she was my student the first time I paid to watch her at Voyeur.

Once she walked into my classroom, another smiling college freshman, I knew I should stop going. Stop watching.

But I couldn’t do it. Everything about her makes me want more, and once I realize she wants me too, the temptation becomes irresistible.

The worst part is that she has no idea her professor is the one watching behind the glass.

I just have to hope that once she finds out the truth, she wants the same thing I do. Because now that I’ve seen all of her, I can’t look away.

Review

Fiona Cole has the honor of being the author of the very first ARC I ever read.  Back in 2016, I read and fell in love with her book Shame.  It completely blew me away, and pushed my boundaries one the type of books that I thought I would enjoy.  Since then, I’ve made it my goal to read every book that she’s written, and aside from her very first novel, and the most recent release of The Lovers, I’ve accomplished that goal.  And she’s yet to disappoint.

I’ve put off reading Voyeur for a while now because I wasn’t sure what to expect, and the concept of the book made me a bit nervous.  Student teacher romances are always a bit iffy for me, and then throw in a sex club, and I really didn’t know what to think.  Why I doubted Fiona’s abilities to blow me away, I don’t know, but once I finally sat down to read this one, I was completely enamoured with this story and characters.

Oakland is a college freshman struggling to make ends meet.  Nervously she accepts a job at Voyeur, which is pretty much the type of club you would think it is from the title.  Callum is a professor at the university that Oakland attends, and without knowing her age, or that she’ll soon be in one of her classes, watches her one night at Voyeur.  Imagine his shock and surprise when Oakland walks into one of his classes, and then becomes a student aide within his department.  While I was expecting a hot read, I was not expecting the depth of this book.  This is so much more than a story about a student and a teacher.  It’s a story about love, and compassion, and healing.  It’s about two people coming together to help overcome demons and to gain a sense of control over their future.

Oakland is an amazing heroine.  She’s strong and compassionate and her patience with Callum is overwhelming.  She rises above her struggles and comes out on top, showing just how strong she is as a person.  She takes a situation that others would find to be a death null to a relationship, and instead turns it into something beautiful.  Her kindness and love help to heal Callum, our beautiful, but damaged hero.  These two together are an absolutely stunning couple.

If you’ve been putting off reading this one, or have been worried that it will be nothing but a “hot and steamy” romance, stop what you’re thinking and pick this one up.  Because it is so, so much more, and is really too gorgeous of a romance to be missed!
