It’s hard to believe that by the end of next weekend, Thanksgiving will be over with, and the Christmas and holiday season will be in full swing. Christmas is a busy time for me, with three kids to buy for, plus both my family and my husband’s family. I feel like I spend so much time shopping, wrapping and decorating that by the time Christmas is here I’m absolutely exhausted. I’m hoping to change that this year and get everything done in the first week or so, and just enjoy the season from there but we’ll see. I do know that my trees are going up next week and I’m super excited for it. Plus I bought some new stuff for the year, so I’m anxious to get decorating.
Ok, now that all that is out of the way, let’s talk about the good stuff. The BOOK STUFF!! I actually had a really good reading week. I finished SIX BOOKS this week and four of them were from my TBR for the month so that’s a huge accomplishment for me.
Out of the six books, I think my favorite was All We Want by J. Daniels. This was a surprise release and I devoured it in practically one sitting, and now I’m anxiously awaiting the next book with my favorite ‘Bama Boys! You can read my thoughts on Like You Mean It, Falling for the Playboy, and Let There Be Light already on the blog! My reviews for the other two should be up sometime this week. I enjoyed everything I read this week, and felt like I actually accomplished something which was exciting. While I know I won’t finish my whole TBR for the month, I think I might actually put a dent in it. I’m curious to see what another week brings me.
I’m tempted to read Tijan’s Fallen Crest series this week because Charli is practically begging me to do so, but I think instead I’m going to try and read some more YA contemporary. I still really want to get to Meet Cute and More Happy Than Not this month. Plus I have a number of ARCs to read for the last week in November, so my week is up in the air for my reading still!
Hello lovely people! This week has been a whirlwind leading up to Thanksgiving break! I have a whole week off for Thanksgiving this year and I could not be more excited. This week was fun because I did several Thanksgiving projects with my kinder people, and then we had a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on Friday to celebrate as a class. It was super cute because the kids all ate popcorn, toast, jellybeans, and pretzels, which is what Snoopy made in the movie. Then on Saturday, I had one of my niece’s 3rd birthday party and went to the UT football game here in Austin where WE WON! It was awesome and I was so freaking tired by the end of the night!
Now, onto my reading week! I read four books this week and only one of them was an ARC. I am pretty happy with the books I was able to get to this week because two of them were by some of my favorite authors!
I think my favorite read this week was The Boy I Grew Up With by Tijan because it is a book that has been a long time in the making. Plus Tijan is one of my all time favorite authors and I simply can’t get enough of her books. I highly recommend that you read her Fallen Crest series because it is magic and definitely read it before The Boy I Grew Up With!
Something amazing happened this week for me. I have been a huge J.L. Drake fan ever since I read her Broken trilogy back in 2015, and I am constantly promoting her books because they hold a special place in my heart. On Instagram, I had unboxed Unleashed and tagged the author like I always do. Jodi then messaged me back and asked if I had seen the acknowledgements page yet. I checked the acknowledgments page and saw that she PUT ME IN THERE! I was shocked and amazed and cried because it was unbelievable. She put both my insta name and the blog on there and I was shook. So that was something amazing that happened to me this week and I was able to read the finale to the Devil’s Reach series, which was fantastic.
You can also read my review for Falling for the Playboy by Kennedy Fox.
I have an entire week off for Thanksgiving (I mentioned this right?!?!) so I have no idea what books I am going to read this week. I don’t even have any ARCs this week! I am just going to let my mood guide me and see where it leads me.
This week the blog will feature an article about the five things Charli and I are thankful this year. Make sure to look for that post on Thanksgiving, as we talk about all the good things we are so grateful for in 2018.
Also look for reviews for On the Fence, 44 Chapters by 4 Men and more!
If you’re looking for some Christmas Ideas, make sure to check in this week and see Charli and I’s six favorite shops for bookish related merch!
