MONTHLY WRAP UP: How I Failed at Another TBR List…

Well, if you’ve been around for a while then you know that I put together a TBR list for November and I was determined that this would be the month that I would tackle the dang thing.  So did it happen?  That, my friends, would be a big fat NO.  Don’t get me wrong, I still managed to read a decent amount, but it just wasn’t what was on the list.

If you recall, this was the list:

  1. Tell Me Three Things – Julie Buxbaum
  2. What to Say Next – Julie Buxbaum
  3. Meet Cute – YA Anthololgy
  4. Every Last Word – Tamara Ireland Stone
  5. Wait for Me – Caroline Leech
  6. The Anatomical Shape of a Heart – Jenn Bennett
  7. More Happy Than Not – Adam Silvera
  8. On the Fence – Kasie West
  9. 44 Chapters About 4 Men – BB Easton
  10. On the Way Down – Ella Fox
  11. The Lady Traveler’s Guide to Scoundrels and Other Gentlemen – Victoria Alexander
  12. Wrangler’s Rescue – BJ Daniels
  13. Desolate – Autumn Grey
  14. Falling for the Playboy – Kennedy Fox
  15. Let There Be Light – AM Johnson

giphy (1)Honestly, as I was looking at that list and adding in the links to the reviews, I realized that I actually did even worse than I had thought in my head.  Of the 15 books on the list, I read 6.  SIX!  That’s it.  That’s a 40% completion rate.  That’s an F…for failure.  I’m giggling to myself at the absolute absurdity of this whole thing.  Make sure you stick around for December when I attempt and most likely fail again…

I guess the most important question regarding this failed TBR is what do I do with the unread books?  Do I roll them over to December and attempt to read them during that month, or just wipe and out and start with a new list?  This is a big conundrum because honestly, I do still want to read those books, but mostly likely not next month?!?  Help me out here, and drop a comment below and let me know what you think I should do with the other 9 books.

So aside from the six books on from my TBR that I read, I also read several others:

I’ll list links to all the reviews below, in case you want to check them out.  But as you can see, despite not sticking to my original list, I still read 13 books which is only two less than I originally struck out to complete.

So now for the fun parts.  My favorites!

Favorite New to Me Author:  Further to Fall by Catherine Cowles.  This book was everything and I ended up email Catherine and gushing all about this book and how much I loved it.  One of the best debuts I’ve read this year!

Book I Never Expected to Love:  44 Chapters About 4 Men by BB Easton.  I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this one, and was super hesitant and worried it “just wasn’t for me.”  I ended up loving it, and can’t wait to read the other books in the series.

Most Anticipated Read: All We Want by J Daniels.  This one was a surprise release and the minute it went live, I jumped on it.  I have been in love with the Alabama Summer series since I first read Where I Belong.  These characters feel like family to me, and it was great to be reunited with them for a while.

In all honesty, I enjoyed all the books I read this month.  Some more than others, but not one book really stands out from the others has being my least favorite.  I love months like this, when everything falls into place, and you enjoy pretty much everything you pick up!
