It’s hard to believe that the first official week of December is already complete, and Christmas is only two weeks away. It’s been a pretty busy last few days here, and I haven’t been able to get as much reading done as I would have liked. I’m deep into my Christmas shopping (I know, I really should be done by now), and I have two of the three kids done and ready to be wrapped. The little one is keeping me on my toes this year, and making it almost impossible to come up with any ideas for what he’d like Santa to bring him. Other than him, I just have a few family members to wrap up and I’ll be done. Hopefully by next weekend I’ll be all done with the shopping and ready to start the wrapping. Aside from getting ready for the Christmas season, work has been absolutely crazy and I’ve been more busy than usual. We have a client that is causing some run around and extra reporting on top of our normal month end close business, and I’ve been exhausted after working a full day. It’s been making it mighty difficult to stay up past 8:30 and read!
So here is what I did manage to read this week:
My favorite read of the week was definitely Hotshot Doc. This is probably my new favorite read by R.S. Grey. Rachel is one of my favorite authors and I get so excited every single time she has a new release. You can read my reviews for Next in Line, Make You Mine, Jock Rule, and #Vacay on the blog too.
This coming week, I have to continue on my basement (that’s an entire other post…but stay tune, it’s coming together), and I’m hoping to finish Verity today by Colleen Hoover. This book is giving me real anxiety and the creep factor is legit!
Hello loves! It has been a busy, exciting week for me! I finished up my student teaching and enjoying the first week of December. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to my sweet kinders, but I am so excited that I get to continue my teaching journey at the same school. I attended my second Christmas party of the season Friday night at my sister’s house, which was super fun. For the gift exchange, I brought two Corkcicle champagne flutes and a champagne bubbles candle since half of her friends (including her and my sister in law) were all pregnant. I came home with Table Topics, the Grandparents edition. It was a really fun night though. Saturday and Sunday were days of rest to gear up for the new week, which will be another busy one!
Now, as for my reading week, I was bombarded with ARCs, which took up most of my reading time this week! I only read 3 books plus an audiobook.
You can read my reviews for Make You Mine, Wrapped in Love, and Jock Rule. My favorite of these three has to be Make You Mine by Tia Louise because it was a second chance, military romance, which was really really good. I also throughly enjoyed How to Date a Douchebag: The Failing Hours by Sara Ney. I struggled with the first book in that series, but I LOVED book two. It was so so good. I will be reading Side Hustle by Emily Goodwin today and I will be reviewing it this week. I am now on Emily’s instagram team via @charli_the_book_princess, which I am so damn stoked for. Side Hustle is the only book I know I will be reading this week, and everything else is up in the air!
This week we have several cover reveals that we will be helping to unveil. One of Charli’s favorites is from Jay Crownover’s next release, Runaround.
Look for a review for Emily Goodwin’s latest release in the Dawson family series, Side Hustle. The cover for this one is beautiful!
Charli will also be writing a Top Ten list this week on her favorite hockey romances so be on the lookout!
