Author:  Jenny Hale

Genre: Holiday Romance
Publication Date:  October 30, 2018

A feel-good story about the magic of Christmas… and the rush of falling in love under the mistletoe.

Single mother Abbey Fuller loves her family more than anything, and she doesn’t regret for a moment having had to put her dreams of being an interior designer on hold. But with her son, Max, growing up, she jumps at the chance when a friend recommends her for a small design job. How hard can it be?

Nick Sinclair needs his house decorated in time for his family’s festive visit-and money is no object. What he doesn’t need is to be distracted from his multimillion-dollar business-even if it is Christmas.

When Abbey pulls up to the huge Sinclair mansion, she has a feeling she might be out of her depth. And when she meets the gorgeous, brooding Nicholas Sinclair, she knows that she’s in real trouble . . .

With the snow falling all around them, can Abbey make her dreams of being a designer come true? And can she help Nick to finally enjoy the magic of Christmas?

This time of year is always a mad rush of decorating, shopping, baking, and wrapping.  There are people to visit, church services to attend, and plenty of time spent with family and friends.  Many times Christmas will bring even the most introverted of us out for a meal with those they love and care about.  Even with the stress of the holidays, I love the Christmas season.  There is just something magical about sitting in my living room with only the lights of the Christmas tree to fill the space, and holiday music playing softly in the background.  It’s my favorite pastime to fill my quiet evenings in December and January.  This year, rather than reading just any old book during the holidays, I decided to give a Christmas read a try.  Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses has been all over bookstagram this holiday, and I’ve seen it compared to a Hallmark Christmas movie, so I decided it was definitely the book I wanted to try.  It didn’t hurt that I found it on sale at Target either, and it jumped right into my cart.

Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses tells the story of Abbey, a single mom who works as a nurse, and dapples in interior design on the side.  She’s done a few small jobs here or there, but she is no way prepared when the opportunity of a lifetime steps into her path.  Nick Sinclair needs his mansion “cozied” up for the holidays, and hires Abbey to do it, no questions asked.  Nick is a man with one singular goal in life – his work.  He really has no time for decorations, or family and has only hired Abbey so that his family will leave him alone during their Christmas season.

Albeit a bit predictable, and a little cheesy (just like a Hallmark movie!), Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses was a feel good Christmas read that left me feeling warm and fuzzy and looking forward to the chance to create new memories with those I love this holiday season.  This was a quick read, that left me entertained throughout, and was filled with characters whom I enjoyed spending my time with.  It was also the type of book that I can recommend to my mother, or grandma without any worries of them stumbling upon something too steamy.  This book is absolutely perfect for curling up with under a warm blanket, with a steaming cup of coffee or tea, and getting lost in the pages.

Now that I’ve finished Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses I cannot wait to dive into a few more holiday reads before the season is up!!

4 Stars!
