REVIEW: Storm (Storm MC, #1) by Nina Levine

26311787Madison Cole’s family is the Storm Motorcycle Club. Her father is the President and her brother is the VP. She grew up surrounded by bikers, crime and violence. Two years ago she walked away from her family and the world they live in. Her soul was shattered, her heart was broken and she had an addiction she couldn’t shake. She picked up the pieces and put herself back together. Now her family wants her back. The club is being threatened and they send a club member to return her home to safety; the one person that could destroy everything she has worked so hard to build.

Jason Reilly has sacrificed a lot for the motorcycle club he calls family. Two years ago he made the biggest sacrifice of all; he gave up the woman he loved for them. Now he is being sent to bring her back and he is conflicted. He thought he was over her but discovers their connection is as strong as ever. Their love was all-consuming, passionate and fiery. It was also their undoing and he doesn’t know if either of them is strong enough to battle the demons that ripped them apart, to find love again.

Madison and Jason are brought back together by a force out of their control; one that pushes them to a breaking point. Can they overcome their past and discover a love worth fighting for or will the harsh reality of their world finally and completely break them both?

REVIEW:

I have really been in an MC mood ever since I read Darkness Embraced earlier this week, which was SO FREAKING GOOD! Storm came on my radar because it is the book of the month read in the Queens of MC Facebook group.

I really did like this book. Overall, it was a solid read with great writing. I think the biggest issue I had was that the big issue that brought Madison back home was resolved way too quickly and nicely for my darker MC tastes. Other than that, I enjoyed the book. There was a fantastic alpha second chance romance that had me rooting for the main characters. What I really loved was the world building in this book because I feel like the subsequent books are going to be even better!

Madison has grown up in the MC world and has had a lot happen to her because of it. I felt Madison’s struggle to cope with the world she was born into as well as the tragic events that eventually sent her on a downward spiral. She fled in order to escape and ended ip stronger because of it. When her past came knocking again, she took the bull by the horns and refused to get knocked down that dark path again. I admired Madison’s strength and her growth. She is a feisty little thing who is stubborn and determined to be her own boss…except when she wants to be bossed around.

Jason, aka J, is your typical alpha MC asshole who has a lot to learn when it comes to women, especially Madison. J is the picture of loyalty and can be a cocky bastard that won’t take no for an answer. I loved the growth that Madison and J had in their own relationship. The differences between their first time around and their second chance was night and day. There was so much more trust and quite the learning curve.

Despite my lower than normal rating, I will definitely be continuing the series because I think the best is yet to come!

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 Stars!
