An entertainment journalist was the last thing I thought I would be doing.
I thought once I got my degree, I would be reporting on stories that made a difference, but now all I do is report on who broke up with who and who is dating who.
I was over it.
Then I got my next assignment.
He’s Hollywood’s bad boy.
He works hard, and he plays even harder.
He’s rude, he’s condescending, and he’s made it known he doesn’t want me on the tour.
With one month on the road with him, two things might happen
One, I may never work in this industry again.
Two, I may just be like everyone else and fall for Hollywood’s Playboy.
Natasha Madison showed up on my radar a little over a year ago when I flew through her Something So series (which if you haven’t read, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??). I immediately fell in love with her writing and characters, and knew I needed to read more of what she wrote. When I read the early chatter about Hollywood Playboy, and read the synopsis, I knew it was the perfect place to continue my reading of her books, and I am so glad I did!
Hollywood Playboy is an enemies to lover romance set among the Hollywood elite. Tyler is a huge action movie star who is venturing on a 30 day press tour, the likes that have never been tempted before. Jessica is one of the lucky (or unlucky in her opinion) entertainment journalists selected for the trip. For years Tyler and Jessica have had growing animosity towards each other that stems from an actor wanting to have a more private life, and a reporter wanting to break her biggest new story. 30 days with each other is bound to go down in flames with the amount of hatred between these two. Throw in a less than friendly assistant, and we had the perfect recipe for disaster.
I started reading Hollywood Playboy yesterday afternoon, and finished it last night at midnight. I rarely stay up that late (I know, midnight isn’t really late but I’m a mom with three kids who is up and moving by 5:30 every morning. For me, it’s LATE) because no matter how tired I was, I had to know what was going to happen to these two characters. I instantly fell in love with both Tyler and Jessica. Tyler is an amazing characters. He’s masculine and a huge Hollywood star, but he’s also completely down to earth and loyal to a fault. He gives up so much of himself for his fans and those around him, and it was so sweet to see him get the happily ever after he’d been looking for. Jessica, on the other hand, is my new favorite heroine. She’s sassy, and smart, and isn’t afraid to back down from a challenge. She kept Tyler on his toes, and she wasn’t one to just roll over and let life pass her by. She didn’t put up with crap from anyone, and went toe to toe with Tyler’s assistant more than once to basically defend her honor. She was the absolute perfect match for Tyler, and I’m so glad that life worked out for them!
Hollywood Playboy is, by far, Natasha Madison’s best work to date. This story was exciting and romantic and kept me entertained throughout. There was the perfect amount of drama and angst without going overboard, and the sexy times were on fire. The characters were well thought out, and pulled at my heart strings in a way that not a lot of characters do. I cannot wait to see what Natasha does for book two, Hollywood Princess, but I’m anxiously awaiting my chance to find out!
Natasha Madison is who I always turn to when I am looking for a light, fun read with just the right amount of emotional depth. I feel like Natasha only gets better with each book and I can always tell when I am reading a Natasha book because she puts her own signature spin on her books.
Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes! I absolutely loved this book and the push and pull that Tyler and Jessica experience the whole book. Tyler and Jessica were hot, sassy, and sexy together. They balanced each other in the best way possible.
I am so excited for what the next book is going to bring us because I loved meeting them in this book.
Overall Rating: 5/5 Stars!
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
