REVIEW: Loving the White Liar by Kate Stewart

25984169.jpgI met my true love when I was twenty-seven. He was handsome, charming, witty, and irresistible. Jayden Monroe came along when I was struggling with indecision and made things simple, turned monochrome into vivid color, and forever altered my perspective on life.

I was not naive enough to believe in happily ever after, but with Jayden, it seemed possible . . . until I realized something wasn’t quite right.

You see, I met a man who would be anyone I needed him to be, and after I found out that fact, I knew it would be impossible to walk away. His disorder, however, would change everything I ever thought about love and what it truly meant to accept someone for who they are.

This is not my sob story; this is his success story

I have popped another new author cherry and this time it was Kate Stewart with her book Loving the White Liar. I have heard so much about this author and I was not disappointed. I will definitely be reading more from her!

Loving the White Liar is a book on mental health and how it affects both partners in the relationship. The mental health disorder addressed in this book is ADHD, and I went into it thinking it wasn’t going to be a huge deal. Boy, was I wrong. There is so much more to this disorder than just a hyperactive personality and I learned along with the heroine what exactly goes on with this disorder as well as how it affects those around them. I love books like this that really teach me something and help me to understand someone better.

Jayden Monroe. This man fights every single day with his ADHD and doing everything he can to cope with his disorder. I loved everything about his man. I loved his strength, romantic side, possessiveness, but I also loved his quirks, idiosyncrasies, and the his flaws. I wanted to wrap this man in a warm hug and tell him everything was going to be okay because he had family and woman who loved him. This man drove me up the wall sometimes, but his good far outweighed his bad. I really wish that I got to get into his head. I wanted to really understand what he was thinking and where he was coming from.

Hilary. This woman is a fighter. She is so full of acceptance and forgiveness for a man who can make her sad and frustrated at times. She does this because she knows that he is worth every negative emotion. She knows that spending her days cuddling and cooking with him are some of her favorite memories. I have such a big heart for Hilary and the strides she took to fight for Jayden. Hilary is strong and ambitious. I loved watching this woman grow throughout this book and the effort she put in to getting to know Jayden.

Jayden and Hilary’s relationship is unlike anything that I have ever read before. It was beautiful to see how they grew together as a couple and the ups and downs they faced together that only made them stronger. This might be one of my favorite couples that I have ever read because everything felt so real. It felt like they were real people with real problems. The way Kate wrote this story was absolutely breathtaking and truly showed us a relationship beyond the short few months that we normally get in other books.

I am so excited to read more from this author and meet her at Holidays with the Belles!

Overall Rating: 5/5 Stars!
