Sometimes happily ever after isn’t all it’s cracked up to be…

Theo Fitzcharles thought he’d put the worst behind him when he became King of Thalania and named his two lovers, Meg Sanders and Galen Mikos, as his Consorts. Unfortunately, the realities of running a country have worn on all of them, individually and as a triad. Theo has every intention of making things right, but first he has to deal with an old enemy who’s closer than anyone could have dreamed.

Meg Sanders never wanted to be a princess. Now that she’s one of two Consorts to the King of Thalania, she knows why—it’s work. Every time she turns around, she’s misstepping and struggling not to screw up the careful political maneuvering required for her new position. But her struggles with the new position are the least of her worries she’s attacked in the palace.

Theo, Galen, and Meg must race to identify her attacker and neutralize them before they can make another attempt to hurt her. There’s plenty of people who want Meg out of the palace—and at least one isn’t picky about whether she’s breathing or not when she goes.

This review may contain spoilers for books 1 and 2 in the series, so proceed with caution if you haven’t yet read them.

The end of Forever Theirs left Theo finally on the throne, with both Galen and Meg has is royal consorts.  For him, it was perfect because he was able to keep both people whom he loved, and still rule his country.  But things aren’t always as picture perfect as they seem, and of course, their relationship is no exception.

Tensions are high between the three lovers.  Galen is uncomfortable in his role as consort and wishes for the days when he was head of security.  Meg, being a foreigner, is up against tons of prejudices from the noble families of the country and must work to secure her position within the royal family.  Her and Galen rarely have any time with Theo, and when they do, he’s closed off and doesn’t realize just how bad things really are among the three of them.  When Meg is attached by someone trying to kill her, both Theo and Galen must come together before they both lose the woman they love.

Forever Theirs, was by far, my favorite of the three books involving this threesome.  One of the things I love about royal romances is a good solid mystery of political intrigue, and I thought the mystery of who and why Meg was being targeted was really well thought out and kept me on my toes until the end of the book.  I was completely wrapped up in the doings of this country and was actually disappointed when the book ended because I felt like I was losing some of my best friends.  I was completely wrapped up in these books while I was reading, and became whole heartedly invested in the characters and their relationships.  I loved every minute I was reading these books, and LOVED the epilogue at the end of Forever Theirs.  It was the perfect conclusion to such a fantastic little series.

I’m really curious to see what happens to Theo’s brother and sister, and believe Katee has a new series coming out centered around Theo’s sister’s story.  I am so excited for this book, and for finding a new author that I just absolutely adore!
