Life is a cruel game where only the most ruthless survive. It’s a truth my mother rebelled against, and she paid for it with her life. Now, I play their game. Publicly accepting the destiny that lies in wait for me when I turn eighteen.

But, behind closed doors, I plot my escape.

Trent, Charlie, and my twin, Drew, rule the hallways of Rydeville High with arrogance and an iron fist. I execute my role perfectly, hating every second, but they never let me forget my place in this world.

Everyone obeys the rules. They have for generations. Because our families have always been in control.

Until Cam, Sawyer, and Jackson show up. Throwing their new money around. Challenging the status quo. Setting hearts racing with their gorgeous faces, hot bodies, and bad boy attitudes.

Battle lines are drawn. Sides are taken. And I’m trapped in the middle, because I made a mistake one fateful night when I gave my V-card to a stranger in a blatant F you to my fiancé.

I thought it was the one thing I owned. A precious memory to carry me through each dark day.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Because the stranger was Camden Marshall, leader of the new elite and my perpetual tormenter. He hates me with a passion unrivalled, and he won’t be the only one. Fire will rain down if the truth is revealed, threatening alliances, and the power struggle will turn vicious.

My life will hang in the balance.

But I’ll be ready, and I’m not going down without a fight.

Charli’s Review:

I have been meaning to get around to reading something by Siobhan Davis for a while now, and after reading Cruel Intentions, I am kicking myself that I didn’t do so sooner! I am not a huge bully romance person, but something about the blurb on this one made me take the chance and it was so worth it!

I thought the writing was brilliant and kept me engaged the entire time. The plot lines and the “holy shit” moments were so on point that I was on the edge of my seat. Davis weaved such a web of conspiracy and mystery that I absolutely loved. People, places, and things are not what they really are and you have no idea until Davis slams you in the face with the truth. I was so impressed!

Abby has grown up in a cruel world where her life was planned out from the role she would play in the family business to the man she was arranged to marry. She has grown up in a world where she is viewed as inferior so when she has the chance to choose something for herself…she takes it. I love Abby’s character! She is strong and can take care of herself. She doesn’t take crap from anyone, and even when she is forced into something, she doesn’t let it happen without a fight or a well placed one liner. I wanted to cry for Abby, cheer her on, fight with her, and so much more. This girl has been to hell and back all because of the family she was born into and is still fighting to free herself of this world.

I knew the man Abby gave her V-card to was going to come back and bite her in the ass, but I was not ready for Camden Marshall. Cam was such an enigma to me because he is filled with so much hatred and anger, but he has these pockets of moments that we see something deeper. That doesn’t mean he goes easy on Abby because he for sure doesn’t. He makes her life hell and humiliates her in some of the most disturbing ways. However, there is something that draws them to each other that they can’t deny. Cam has mysteriously popped into this world and his mystery is so worth unfolding!

That ending left me desperate for the rest of the series! This is a book that I will be counting down the days to book 2!

Emily’s Review:

I’ve really gotten into the whole bully romance/secret society thing lately. I love books with lots of twists and turns like Paper Princess, and then most recently the Elite Kings books by Amo Jones. Anything that has me questioning everything that I thought to be true is well worth a read in my opinion. So when I read the synopsis for Cruel Intentions and saw that it had to do with an elite group of society and lies and secrets would abound, I had to have it. And I am so glad that I did!

Having never read a book by Siobhan Davis before, I had no idea what to expect, but she did not hold back. This book was absolutely incredible. Cruel Intentions starts out with Abby, our main character, contemplating what she is doing with her life. Pulled from her plans by a handsome stranger, Abby makes a decision that will change the course of her life forever. From just the prologue of the story, I was completely sucked into the pages, and taken by the characters in this book. I had to know what else was going to happen to Abby and where the mysterious stranger was going to play into her life.

Cruel Intentions is rife with teenage drama and angst and I couldn’t get enough of it. Not to mention it was so well written and plotted out. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down, even though my heart was pounding, my mind was racing, and I just wanted to squeeze my eyes shut from the anticipation and anxiety of the story. When a book can make me feel all that, you know it’s a good one!

I cannot wait to see what other things Siobhan has in store for us with the Rydeville High Elite, and I am definitely hooked on this series!

“Hopefully, Camden Marshall acts as a suitable distraction, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.”

“I wonder what he’s like?” she muses, staring idly out the window.

“I spent most of last night Googling him, but it’s so weird, there isn’t a single photo of him or his family online.”

“Drew said they are notoriously reclusive.”

“Apparently so, according to the gossip sites. Camden’s father has Techxet—Sawyer’s father’s company—on retainer, and a team of technical specialists is dedicated twenty-four-seven to finding and removing all photographic content and any unsavory online content. I could barely find out anything about him other than his father is Wesley Marshall, owner of a pharmaceutical company called Femerst, and a much-respected philanthropist, and he met Sawyer and Hunt when they all enrolled at a private New York school a couple of years ago.”

“I bet he’s hot,” Jane speculates as our driver pulls into the entrance to Rydeville High.

“Of course, he’s hot. I don’t need a picture to confirm that. Hot, rich assholes always stick together. We should know.”

I spot Oscar fighting a smile through the front mirror.

“Just don’t go kissing this one,” Jane whispers, her expression half serious, half mischievous.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be going nowhere near Camden Marshall. Trust me on that score.”
