Emily’s Review

I’ve been on a kick of reading books about bad boy gangs in high school that are full of dark secrets. It all started when I read Amo Jones, and since then, they’ve been on my must read list.

If You Dare is dark and twisted as all get out. I had no clue what was going to happen, and when I finished book two I had so many questions and had to know what was going to happen. But Shantel completely blew my mind with this one. This book is the absolute perfect combination of angst and drama that kept me reading late into the night. I couldn’t put it down and had to know what was going to happen next.

Deke has definitely become one of my new favorite dark boyfriends. There is so much lingering beneath his surface, and I couldn’t wait to dig in and see what secrets he was hiding. I was so excited when I found out we were getting a book devoted to him, and this book was just PERFECT.

This book is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ. But be prepared for a wild, crazy, and dark ride because I barely survived!

Charli’s Review

I have become such a huge fan of Shantel’s this past month! The Fallen Crest series by Tijan has always been one of my all time favorite series, and I love it because it is mature high school with tons of drama. The Dare books remind me of them, but on a much, much darker level. These are high schoolers out of your worst nightmare.

I fell in love with Deke in Becky in the first book, which was amazing to see. I was so happy that they got their own book. It was daring, full of secrets and intrigue, and so much tension! Things kept building on each other and secrets were around every corner.

There is something about Deke that is so dark and delicious that I fell in love with from the beginning. Becky became his world in the first book of the series, and knew that he would give up everything for her…until he found out her secret. Becky is one of the most loyal characters when it comes to standing up for those she cares about. I was rooting for these two from the beginning and it was so worth the wait!

This series has definitely stolen a piece of my heart that I am not sure I will ever get back!

Death Is a debt we are all born owing.

It is something that money can’t buy nor can it be traded.

You can’t bargain for more time. When it’s up you accept it like a fucking man.

I’ve never been afraid to die. Or to love, for that matter.

Aren’t they the same?

You surrender to a fate you have no control over.

You don’t get to choose when or how you die, just as you can’t choose when and who you fall in love with.

Some couples get a happily ever after while others are toxic for one another.

My love was like that.

She lied; I believed every word.

I hurt her; she forgave too easily.

It was a vicious circle of deceit and sex wrapped up in a pretty black bow. Neither one of us could quit.

I wrapped my hand around her throat, and she begged me to breathe.

She stabbed me in the heart and demanded I bleed.

She might as well have been fucking poison, but I would have drunk her anyway.

That was the kind of obsession I had for her.

I knew how it would end-total devastation.

A war zone of Broken bones and bleeding souls.

I should have hated her, but that’s the funny thing about love-it’s out of your control.

Even when it leaves you with two black eyes, you beg for more.

People are afraid of the unknown, but I’ve never feared death, and love was no different.

She was going to destroy me, and I was going to let her.  It was a game that could only end one way-a slow and torturous death.
